The .asia domain name extension was introduced in 2006 with the intention of being used for companies and individuals within Asia Pacific such as Australia, China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and all other countries and continents within the Asia Pacific region. The .asia domain is a sponsored Top Level Domain, sponsored by the DotAsia organization and operated by Afilias.

Who can register .asia domain name?
A .asia domain name can be registered by any individual or entity residing or having a contact within the Asia Pacific region.

What do I need to register .asia domain name?
Aside from there requirement of having at least 1 contact within the Asia Pacific Region, there are no additional requirements.

Rules:

• Only letters, numbers, or hyphens (“-“) are allowed.
• The domain name cannot begin or end with a hyphen.
• The domain name must have at least 2 characters and less than 63 characters, not including .asia

Any company, individual or organisation residing in the European Union or in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or an EU citizen, independently of their place of residence can register a .eu, .ею or .ευ (as of 14 November 2019) domain name.

First-come, first-served

Domain names are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Your desired domain name might not be available because:

• It has already been registered by someone else.
• The European institutions, EU Member States, EU Candidate or Members of the EEA have blocked or reserved it.

Tips for choosing your domain

Your domain name should be pronounceable and memorable, limit the length to two or three words.

If your desired domain name has been reserved, you can apply for its release by submitting an application. You can also use the same domain name with hyphens, or shorten it to an acronym.
